Marjorie Taylor Greene Proposes Felony Charges for ‘Deadly’ Weather Manipulation
By Jake Beardslee · July 6, 2025

Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene announced plans to introduce legislation that would criminalize weather modification and geoengineering practices. In a post on X (formerly Twitter) over the weekend, Greene said she is ready to push forward with a bill aimed at halting what she called the “dangerous and deadly practice of weather modification.”
According to Greene, the bill would outlaw “the injection, release, or dispersion of chemicals or substances into the atmosphere for the express purpose of altering weather, temperature, climate, or sunlight intensity.” She added that the legislation has been in development for months and is modeled after Florida’s Senate Bill 56. “We must end the dangerous and deadly practice of weather modification and geoengineering,” she declared.
While Greene did not explain how this legislation aligns with the needs of her Georgia constituents, her interest in the subject is not new. Following Hurricane Helene in 2024, Greene reiterated her belief in weather control, writing: “Yes they can control the weather. It’s ridiculous for anyone to lie and say it can’t be done.” The post was flagged with a fact-check on X, stating that hurricanes and other large storms cannot be artificially generated using existing technology.
Earlier this year, as wildfires burned across Southern California, Greene questioned why “they” weren’t using geoengineering methods to mitigate the damage. “Why don’t they use geoengineering like cloud seeding to bring rain down on the wildfires in California?” she posted on January 15, once again prompting a community note to clarify the limits of such technology.
With Republicans now holding power across all three branches of government, Greene appears poised to advance the bill, continuing her crusade against what she believes to be covert climate manipulation.
